Services
A: Mentoring climate scientists to build capacity.
Supporting students (BTech/BSc (Honours), Masters/MTech and Ph.D.) with research proposals and project writing, conference presentations, manuscript editing. I also offer editing services (English and manuscript prof reading) for any postgraduate student.
B: Supporting government with climate strategy reports, policies and policy review.
Improving institutional framework is vital for better governance. To ensure Nationally Determined Contributions and National Adaptation Plans are aligned with international commitments under the Paris Agreement, countries need to review their policies and ensure that these are implemented. This service is offered to all levels of governments, and municipalities etc.
C: Research
Areas for collaboration include climate-related water scarcity, hydrological extremes (floods and droughts), heatwaves, climate adaptation (early warning systems, nature-based solutions, etc.), and transdisciplinary and transformative research in African contexts.
D: Transformation of Higher education institutions and research councils
To meet the challenges of a changing climate the way that science needs to be undertaken must change. The World Climate Research Programme and international organizations promote transformative research for catalyse change, generate policies and involve stakeholders.
